I ordered something I could only get in Europe. I was nervous…The item was back ordered which made me even more nervous but the customer service got back to me right away and I received my item in a very timely manner considering.

Its really so sad seeing people wait so long for the 350 that was given to them by their president so now you get foodworld in plaza town centre mitchells plain cape town cashiers and management of store telling them they must buy 150 worth of goods to get the change of the 350 that was yesterday the 26 january and today the 27th january they telling people to spend 100 in store to get the change of the 350 cause this store foodworld dont have money come on man where is the signs and posters saying it im highly upset

I am a regular customer at your station plaza store [Mitchells Plain, Cape Town], have been for years but I am extremely disappointed at the treatment I received today 24 March 2022.

My husband a coded welder and workshop manager rushed to pick me up at work in order for me to do a little last minute shopping. When doing this he opted to come in his work overalls and did not change into his clothes as he normally does.
From the moment we stepped inside the store I noticed a female security guard follow us into each isle. I pointed it out to my husband but he encouraged me to look pass it as we not doing anything wrong. After collecting our groceries we moved to the till points and paid for our goods.
Disgustingly we were stopped at the door by security and told to hand over our slips and groceries for them to see what we had.
I'm a regular and this I know never happens.
Words can not express how embarrassed I was as all shoppers and workers stood there staring as they ransacked through our goods.
As we did nothing out of the ordinary I am certain the only reason we were treated like criminals was because my husband "looked dirty" or maybe as people who soon realized what they were doing pointed out "looked poor" and for that reason we were targeted.

I am appalled that the store practices such bias, as your economic circumstances does not make you a criminal.
I have started a social media group, which miraculously now has over 400 members and is still growing to share my experience. Many members have encouraged the idea of boycotting the store as many of them have had terrible experiences at your store, and there is never any accountability. Someone needs to take a stand.

Wow i was so hungry and bought me a jumno pie at your Goodwood branch and what a disappointment it was to bite into a block of flat raw dough sis man. I have never bought such a horrible pie at the previously owned Shoprite before. And there is something wrong with the bland taste as well. No i cannot take it back as its not worth the price of petrol nowadays and i have my grandkids to look after.
