I rented a 10x10 and set up AutoPay. on 3/13/22 i moved in and i paid $30.00 when it was suppose to be $1.00 for the 1st month. My payments were increased in less than a month & then on May 2022 i got an alert on the app for payment $71.00 was told that was the regular rate price???? NO so when covid outbreak hit my office & we were sent home... they did not care. they charged me late fees, lien fees etc. i was given 2 telephone #'s & an email to reach out to for assistance... NO RESPONSE or CALLBACKS.
Rat, roaches and constant rent increases!!!! Run, do not rent with them…. The free month isn’t really free, you will pay for it, the insurance is a scam… if you have a loss you won’t receive a dime… my daughter had a facility that I paid monthly and her items were damaged, and she was not compensated. Her storage was destroyed by water and rodents, which caused her couch, mattress and a lot of her items to mildew and be deemed worthless… If you value the items you are storing please find a worthy facility because Public storage is a rat and roach infested storage facility with low price to real the customer in and end with high prices that you must pay. They are liars and everyone including corporate tells you different things. I’m going to post this on Yelp as well…
Rat infested in Vancouver Washington. After I complained then they went out and put rat bait stations all around the complex. I was furious. The rats ate/destroyed a lot of my stuff including a couch. It also smells like mildew all of my storage stuff. And on top of this, the managers there had the tenacity eventhough they knew for years of the rat infestation to raise my rental storage amount from 85.00 to 115.00 for a rat infestation and mildew storage. This is insane. Who does this? And if the rate increase comes from corporate then corporate you should know your business inside and out. For example, how about taking a walk around the facilities and doing an inspection before you increase rates??????? Ha. would that not be a good business thing to do. Well, I will be reporting you to the BBB, and the city for a rat infestation facility! These are my next steps to do.
So I go & rent a unit at 808 Gleneagles ct. Towson Md. I start out paying $98 a month I can afford that. 3 months later my bill goes up to $106 the next month it goes up $2 more dollars. In August my bill is now $108. Now its November $ my bill is $136 a month I never agreed to allow my bill to go up in 6 months $40. No no no bad business on Public Storage. I want a refund asap
My son lives in Salem Oregon, I live in Colorado, simply trying to pay a month on his storage. Local manager doesn't answer phone. Payment on line is obscure, nothing to confirm you're paying the right person's storage, call center wants a 20 convince fee to help me. Don't expect any personal service, all automated, frustrating. For a company to profit off a good deed is so wrong. Word of mouth bashing gonna start today. Crooks, heartless money grubbing crooks. No matter, changed companies
Public Storage is a RIP OFF, when I stated the Unit it was $175 a month ok cool I paid the monthly fee for 2 month, I vacate the property on 08/11/2021 due to closed on my home. Not once I was informed if I closed the unit before the end of the month I would been prorated. If I had known this from the beginning when speaking with Monica I would have continue to leave it open. I am paying for a unit that was closed out 08/11 and unable to be reimbursed for the remining of the month hope that no on use this company signed a ANGER BIRD

I am being charged for insurance on two of my three storage units even though I attempted to waive it at the time I rented the units. They refused to waive it initially on the two "because my first month was free." I had no problems with waiving it on the first unit. Now they REFUSE to stop billing me for insurance. They tell me I have to go into the office to sign a waiver which is what I tried to do to begin with in the office. I have been working remotely for two months. They have been requiring me to go into a Public Storage office BUT I WAS SO REMOTE THERE WASN'T ONE ANYWHERE FOR HUNDREDS OF MILES! I have now tried calling the corporate headquarters and finally got through to someone after a tremendous amount of difficulty and being on hold for 20 minutes. I finally got through to someone who was nice and tried to help, however, she was unable to find a way she could correct it and forwarded a message to her supervisor but until she calls back and fixes it, I will have to continue to pay $30/MO for insurance when I don't need it! I never got a call back. Previously, I had spoken to the manager of the storage facility who said the GM would call back and they never called back -- has been 3 weeks. I have now traveled a significant distance to only have wi-fi access for a short time. In addition to all this, the office calls me every few days and repeatedly sends multiple emails telling me I have not secured one of my storage areas because I apparently put the lock in the "wrong hole." I was not told about this "wrong hole/right hole." I am now convinced that this is a set-up just to make me pay more money. They owe me a lot of money and need to correct their records one way or another. And no one is being responsive! Enough is enough. This is absurd. I am too busy for this nonsense and they are taking money they have absolutely no entitlement to!
I have been renting an RV bay (#K005) at the 2150 Turner Road in Salem, Oregon Public Storage property since January. I believe this is about the same time PS took over the property. This is my first experience with Public Storage, but I have rented storage units in several locations from other companies, so I rented my unit knowing full well that general rental increases occur around July of each year. From past experience, I have come to expect an annual increase of 5 to 10 percent. As you can imagine, I was stunned to receive notice today that my rent was being increased more than 31 percent. THIRTY-ONE PERCENT. I know of no other business (including property management) that increases its cost to customers nearly one-third all at once. In any business climate, particularly in these post-COVID times, and in many areas of the country, an increase of 31 percent all at once is unsustainable. I am at a loss for words to describe how astounded I am at the amount of money involved in your 31 percent increase. My wife and I live comfortably on a fixed income. When we purchased our motor home, we calculated ownership costs to include storage fees, and we figured an annual storage rental increase of 10 percent was more than adequate for budgeting purposes. What market segment are you targeting with your rental rates? I contacted "Debbie" at your customer service line and she explained your corporate policy favored annual rate increases. She was, of course, unable to tell me what NEXT year's rate increase might be, but she was kind enough to inform me that the 12x50 storage unit I am currently renting to store my motor home is valued by Public Storage at $889. Am I to assume the corporate plan is to increase rent on my unit until it reaches the current market value -- whatever it may be in the future? I ask you to re-think your rental increase. I am in Oregon, and I cannot believe 600 square feet is worth $889 per month, unless it is a studio apartment. Please -- I know I am not alone in seeking some relief from your astounding increase. I ask you reconsider, as I am more than willing (and able) to absorb a 10 or 12 percent increase.
I would also like to add that Suzie is an excellent manager at the Turner Road facility. She is friendly, yet professional, and the grounds are immaculate. My rating, therefore is no reflection on the property, rather it is intended to show my shock and displeasure with the corporate rental increase.
I've been trying to close my storage unit out for over a week.
Thank goodness everything has been moved out already.
I have shown up in the office twice and called twice to let them know that I have vacated my unit. I had the manager tell me that I needed to take my lock off the door. I was standing there with the lock in my hand. They have told me several times that they would remove the charges that have encouraged because they were too freaking lazy to go look and see if a lock has been removed from a unit.
I will never do business with public storage again.
it was too much of a headache moving in and it's too much of a headache moving out.
when I moved in someone wrote the wrong unit number down on paper or moved me into the wrong unit. Both were the same size.
When they corrected the mistake they wanted to charge me more. I had to claw my way to corporate to get this resolved.
Afterwards I got nothing but attitude from the manager.
Now I can't even close my unit out..... WTH!
