Verizon Communications (About this sound listen (help·info)) (/vəˈraɪzən/ və-RY-zən), otherwise known as Verizon, is an American multinational telecommunications conglomerate and a corporate component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The company is based at 1095 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, but is incorporated in Delaware.
What eventually became Verizon was founded as Bell Atlantic, which was one of the seven Baby Bells that were formed after AT&T Corporation was forced to relinquish its control of the Bell System by order of the Justice Department of the United States. Bell Atlantic came into existence in 1984 with a footprint from New Jersey to Virginia, with each area having a separate operating company (consisting of New Jersey Bell, Bell of Pennsylvania, Diamond State Telephone, and C&P Telephone).

Fios history
Bell Atlantic Corporation was created as one of the original Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs) in 1984, during the breakup of the Bell System. Bell Atlantic’s original roster of operating companies included:
- The Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania
- New Jersey Bell
- Diamond State Telephone
- C&P Telephone (itself comprising four subsidiaries)
Bell Atlantic originally operated in the states of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia, as well as Washington, DC.
In 1994, Bell Atlantic became the first RBOC to entirely drop the original names of its original operating companies.
In 1996, CEO and Chairman Raymond W. Smith orchestrated Bell Atlantic’s merger with NYNEX. When it merged, it moved its corporate headquarters from Philadelphia to New York City. NYNEX was consolidated into this name by 1997.

I cannot believe that I can’t get my problems with Fios solved since last week
On Nov.3,2020! I have called almost everyday and spoke to customer service,
Even tried to contact the corporate office but to no avail. I have had the Fios triple bundle for many years with free lifetime DVR and I have had no real problems until now. I called customer service last week just to say my WiFi
Was slow and what I could do without changing my current package which
I was happy with. This salesman named “Fred” scammed me so badly
With a new package that took away everything that I had, charging me
More money with less channels no hbo no showtime no Tom or cinemoi
He was supposed to get back to me after he spoke to his supervisor and
Said he was sending a new router ,which I received but is still in the box
Because I am not doing anything until someone resolves this for me.
He sent me an email on Nov4th saying they would contact me at 11am.
Never hears from him agin. Did not know he changed my whole bundle
Without my knowledge. Spoke to so many other customer. Service reps who all
Wanted to sell me another package. All I want now is to return to my
Old bundle which had just been renewed on my last bill at$181.44
And get the same channels l previously had. I am a senior citizen and this
Is upsetting me terribly. I have all the names of people I
I spoke to who can’t seem to help me. I am not paying for a package that
I did not pick or even see what I was getting. After all my calls since Nov. 3rd
Trying to stop this, it went into effect on Nov. 9th, the same day he sent me
A copy of the package he put in for me. I couldn’t believe it. He removed.
My old package which I did not authorize him to do and charged over $200.
Please help I am not going to pay for something I don’t want !

I want to know how to speak with someone in the United States. I don’t want to speak someone from the Philippines – I don’t live there I live in the US. From what I understood we could ask to speak with someone in the US and be transferred. I have just spent an hour calling every number I could find online. I kept getting the Philippines and was told I couldn’t be transferred it wasn’t possible and they didn’t know how. I would like someone to get back to me asap
