. I am very upset with the way Optimum operates. I got Optimum last year only because Verizon did not have Fios in my area. I am moving end of March and requested that my services be switched to my new address. My daughter currently lives at that address and because she already has Optimum service I decided that I would keep optimum service as the equipment is already there. On 02/25/19 I logged on to my optimum account approximately 5 pm and requested to have my account transferred to the new location. I received an email shortly after confirming the installation for 03/23/19. Someone from Optimum contacted me on the phone shortly after and confirmed that I was moving and he was trying to get me the “best deal”, I told him I want the same package I have at the time. He said that offer is no longer available. He had me on hold while he “ looked to see what he could do for me.” I told him I was at work and was about to leave work to go home, so I had to go. He said that was ok as he did not need me on the phone. Low and behold when I got home at about 7:15 pm I had no cable service. I had WIFI and my phone was still working. I had an alert saying “YOUR SERVICES ARE SUSPENDED. TO MAKE A PAYMENT NOW VISIT OPTIMUM.NET/PAY-BILL/ OR VIA THE OPTIMUM SUPPORT APP.” I was surprised as all my bills were up to date. I called right away and was told its an error as I do not have any outstanding bills. I was assured my services will be back on in two hours. Approx. 2 1/2 hours later I got a call from optimum saying they were not able to put it back on as that department was closed, and I should call back at 7 am next day Feb 26th to the sales dept. I called back the next day at 7:01 am I was transferred all over until a lady told me they will have to send a technician to put back my services on, but I would have to be at home. I informed her I can’t just take off work like that. I asked why they can’t give me back services remotely as they turned it off remotely. I called from work and again was given the run around. I was told to call when I get home. I got home too late to call so I did next morning Feb 27th before leaving home. I was told by a man that I would have to pay $80.00 to get my services restored. I told him I will not pay any money as I did nothing wrong for it to be disconnected. All my bills were up to date. He told me to call the disconnection dept to find out why it was disconnected. I still had internet up to this point, so I just watched tv using my Roku. I kept calling and continued to get the run around. One lady I spoke to even blamed me for the error saying I put it in for transfer for February 23rd instead of March 23rrd. I told her that was impossible as I only did it on February 25th and had email conformation. She said she was in a supervisory role and would help me to get back the services. When I told her, it would be only until March 23rd and I will not be using optimum any more she changed her mind and said she cannon help me again. I ask her to give me my final bill which she said was $2.79 which I paid. When I went home on Thursday Feb. 28th the phone and internet were gone. I got so frustrated by this point. I go home every evening to quietness. I am very inconvenienced as I am pursuing my master’s degree and I can’t do my school assignments. I had to go to a friend’s home to go online. I decided to cancel the March 23rd appointment and go to Verizon. I had 3 people from optimum call me between yesterday 3/4/19 and today. They calling to reschedule my March 23rd appointment at new address. No one care about the fact they left me with out services since February 25th. I will be returning the equipment soon before I get charged. I will make sure to tell my family and friends to stay away from optimum. This is the worst company I ever have. They need to close and let the other companies expand more.

Optimum history

The company was started in London in January 1998, by Sarah Kirk, Ursula Walker and David Hankins. These three formed the board of directors until April 2014 when they stood down and Corrina Hill became the Operations Director, Joanne Harrison became the Sales Director and Nicky Cortes became the Director of Training and Development.
 
The company spent its early years in Clerkenwell, London, before residing in Farringdon, London, for 10 years. In July 2014 the London training centre then moved to London Bridge. initially, Optimum started as a training company offering Microsoft Office courses, primarily within the City of London. Since then the training market has changed significantly and so has the client base and the work the company does.
