Does SMUD require a deposit?
a deposit may be required as security for the payment of bills. SMUD may, in accordance with Rule and Regulation 11, discontinue service if the customer fails to make such deposit as requested by SMUD.
How do I find my SMUD account number?
SMUD account information
The account number can be found on the upper left corner of your bill or invoice. You can use one of the following as an access code: Last four digits of the primary Social Security Number on My Account. Customer Access Code obtained via a phone call to SMUD Customer Services at 1-888-742-7683.
How do I pay my bill?

What is SMUD’s credit card refund policy?
You may request a refund if you’ve used your credit card to pay your bill and this has resulted in a duplicate or overpayment on your account. To request a refund, please contact a Customer Service Representative at 888-742-7683 between 7 AM and 7 PM, Monday through Friday.
